Recent Handball Coaching

Handball enthusiasts who recently took part in the Community Games

A big thanks to Simon Kavanagh who recently organised for pupils of various classes to have a go at handball. Simon was assisted by Jonathon Conway on the day.
The children thoroughly enjoyed it and I’m sure some future club members will come out of it!

Upcoming Parents Association Fundraisers

Please note that our Parents Association have organised a church gate collection this Saturday and Sunday the 1st and 2nd of December.
There are also plans to have a bake sale at the Health Centre on the 16th of December.
They are presently planning the annual Christmas raffle, more details will follow.

Please contact a member of the PA Committee if you wish to help out with any of the above.
The fundraisers organised by the PA are very important in helping to provide much needed resources for the children of our school, therefore we ask that you support them as best you can.

National Parents Council Training

There was a training session for the Parents Association, organised by Miriam Brandt, the point of contact within the association, for The National Parents Council. The facilitator was Margaret Scollan, a former teacher and VEC Principal. Margaret had plenty of praise for the work and initiatives of our Parents Association, already taking place. It was a very informative training evening, with plenty of useful information and advice to be taken on board and implemented. There will be further training evenings and it is advisable for all PA committee members to attend if possible. Keep an eye on the school website as the relevant dates will be uploaded when they are confirmed.
Thanks again to all who attended and to Miriam for organising.

Intermediate County Champion!

We would like to extend our congratulations to one of our teachers, Paul Higgins who plays football with Shamrock Gaels Football Club. Paul is captain of the team and led them recently to win the Intermediate County Championship.
Congratulations Paul and his team on a very successful year!

ESB Upgrade Complete

We recently had the electricity supply to the school upgraded. This was a much needed upgrade, not only for the capacity needed to supply the school as is, but this is also the beginnings of the necessary preparatory work which will lead to the building of the new extension.

A big thank you to all involved.
