Music Generation Concert

Congratulations to the children of 4th, 5th and 6th class who recently performed at the Teeling Centre for their end of year concert. The performance was very well attended and enjoyed by all.
Music Generation tutors brought their expertise to every class in the school and we have applied to have them back with every class next year.

Orienteering

Well done to the classes from 3rd to 6th who completed an orienteering course with Sligo Sports Partnership. It took place over 4 weeks, with the final day in Union Wood.

First Holy Communion

Congratulations to all the children who recently made their First Holy Communion

Fire Service Visit

The Sligo Fire Service recently visited 1st and 2nd class to give a talk on fire safety.

Parachute Jump Fundraiser

Annette Fagan will complete a tandem parachute jump on June 15th in Tullamore Co. Offaly. The school wish to extend their thanks in advance to Annette for offering to use this occasion as a fundraiser for the school. Sponsorship cards have been sent home with your child.

Gaelic Football

Best of luck to the boys who take part in a play-off match to reach the semi-finals of the Cumann na mBunscoil. The match takes place on the 6th of June at Kent Park.

The girls’ football has finished for the year. Well done to all who took part this year, the numbers turning up to training for both boys and girls were very good.
Thank you to all members of staff who facilitated the training sessions all year, in particular Mr. Higgins and Ms. Mulvaney for their expert coaching.

Soccer

Well done to all the children who took part in the soccer training this year. Thank you to Mr. Taheny and Neil McKenna for their expert coaching.

Sports Day

The school Sports Day will take place on Monday the 24th June. It has yet to be confirmed whether it will take place in the school or at Connolly Park. More details to follow….

School Tours

4th , 5th and 6th class will go to Shannon River Adventure in Roosky, on Friday the 14th of June. Bus departs from school at 8:50am and to return at approximately 5pm.

Junior and Senior Infants are going to Let’s Go School Tours at Sligo I.T. on Tuesday the 18th of June. Bus departs at 8:50am and to return at approximately 3:40pm.

1st , 2nd and 3rd class are going to Let’s Go School Tours at Sligo I.T. on Wednesday the 19th of June. Bus departs at 8:50am and to return at approximately 3:40pm.

Please ensure that you have returned your child’s consent form to the school. A reminder text will be sent prior to each tour.

Xcessible Youth Sports Programme

The children of Crann Darach have been taking part in the Xcessible Youth Sports Programme with Sligo Sports Partnership. Some of the children will attend a Sports Day at the Knocknarea Arena, Sligo I.T. on Thursday the 13th of June. Details will be sent to the relevant parents next week.

Parents Association

On behalf of all the pupils and staff of Scoil Mhuire Agus Iosaf, we would like to extend our thanks to the Parents Association for all the support they have given the school throughout the year. All the fundraising efforts and support is greatly appreciated.

Summer Holidays

School closes for summer holidays on Wednesday the 26th at 12pm.
School re-opens on Monday the 2nd of September.
