First Holy Communion 🕊
Congratulations to our 2nd Class pupils who made their First Holy Communion earlier this month.
School Tours
That time of year again. ☀️
⭕️Junior Infants, Senior Infants and First Class are going to Sligo for the Let’s Go Tour on Wednesday the 25th of May.
⭕️2nd Class are going to Eagles Flying on Friday the 17th of June.
⭕️3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Classes are going to Bay Sports on Thursday the 16th of June.
Graduation 🎓
The Sixth Class Graduation will take place in school on June 23rd. Parents welcome.

Our annual Sports Day will be taking place on Wednesday the 8th of June.
Mass
End of year Mass for staff and students will take place outside on the 10th of June.

Seachtain na Gaeilge agus Lá Glas
Each class fully immersed in the Irish language for Seachtain na Gaeilge this year. We finished up by celebrating Lá Glas where the children wore green and with the help of Ms. Kerins performed a sean-nós dance for the school.
Confirmation
Best wishes to our 5th and 6th class pupils who will be making their Confirmation on Sunday the 27th of March. Thank you to their teachers Mr. Higgins and Ms. Kerins for all of their work in preparing the children for this sacrament.
Cumann na mBunscol and Gaelic Training
Boys training with Mr. Higgins and girls training with Ms. Mulvaney has resumed every Tuesday after school in the Owenmore Gaels pitch.
Climb with Charlie
Staff of Scoil Mhuire agus Iosaf, Collooney are taking part in Climb with Charlie. All funds raised will go directly to Pieta and Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (IMNDA). If you would like to donate the link is below.

Active Flag
Our school is continuing to work for the Active Flag. Our newsest initiative is the ‘Run Around Ireland Challenge’. Progress will be tracked and shared on class blogs.
New Extension
The new school extension is on track and making great progress.
Easter Holidays
School closes for the Easter Holidays on Friday the 8th of April and will reopen on Monday the 25th.

Letters to Cloonamahon Residents
Thank you to all the pupils in 2nd class for writing letters to the residents of Cloonamahon.
Morning Mile
Well done to the pupils of 6th and 5th who have resumed the morning mile run every morning. More classes will join them in the New Year.
Music Generation
Some classes have had the pleasure of the Music Generation tutors this term and the rest will avail of this in the New Year.
Elf on the Shelf
We have had reports from several classes where there have been elves causing havoc. They seem to be enjoying their time in our school.
Active Flag
We have taken up the baton of achieving the Active Flag for Scoil Mhuire Agus Iosaf. We will post updates as we make progress on this.
Keeping School Tidy
A big thank you to all the pupils of 6th class who are doing an excellent job of keeping the school tidy with litter picking and sweeping among other jobs
New Hepa Filter/Air Purifiers
Following Department of Education recommendations we have recently purchased new Hepa Filter/Air Purifiers for each classroom.
